Welcome to Friedrichshafen, Lake Constance’s second-largest city.

The City

Around 60,000 “Häfler”, as the locals call themselves, live here, and some 700,000 guests flock to Messe Friedrichshafen on the lake every year. This Baden-Württemberg city is located at the point where three countries converge – Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and Liechtenstein is only a 1 ½ -hour drive away as well.

The crystal clear water of Lake Constance against the spectacular mountain backdrop makes Friedrichshafen an extraordinary city. It is a place where nature, culture and urban charm merge together perfectly.

What to do after a long day of fair

Those who are looking for something to do after an eventful trade fair day can choose from a wide range of different options.

You can switch off and recharge, for instance, with a relaxing walk around the lake, over a drink at the Beach Bar, or while enjoying a delicious meal at one of the restaurants on the lakeside promenade. Many of the restaurants and bars in the city centre offer a beautiful view of the unique panorama of Lake Constance and the Alps.

Numerous cycle paths along the lakeshore or in the hilly hinterland are ideal for short and longer excursions. There are so many other ways of getting active as well – a hike through the wine mountains, a swim in Lake Constance, stand-up paddling at sunset…

Unforgettable moments

Thanks to the city’s superb location, it is also easy for visitors to make an outing to Austria, Liechtenstein or Switzerland – catamaran, ferry and rail will all transport you quickly to the other side of the lake.

While you are here, why not enjoy a truly exceptional and memorable experience such as Zeppelin trip, a tour of the related museum, or maybe take in a “VfB Friedrichshafen” volleyball federal league match.

Whatever you choose – we wish you an enjoyable and entertaining stay in our trade fair city.
