The BIKE TRAVEL FORUM on Friday provided a comprehensive forum for the bike travel sector. The event held particular significance for the bike industry as some two thirds of all employees working in the industry were directly involved in tourism. This conference focused on joint initiatives between the tourism sector and the bike industry. Cooperation and collaboration were strengthened to explore new paths for the ecosystem.
“Research on cycle tourism forms the basis for identifying trends and generating targeted recommendations for action. We’re creating a strategic framework for the future of cycle tourism in Germany.”
The BIKE TRAVEL FORUM at EUROBIKE 2025 took a closer look at strategic topics for the future of the cycle tourism industry. At the heart of the analysis was the survey on cycle tourism (Grundlagenuntersuchung Radtourismus), first published in 2009 and with a new edition released that year.
The impact of AI on product development, infrastructure, and visitor guidance was considered. The tourism sector created and used platforms for community building and, above all, communication. A range of different platform approaches were examined, and the role of lighthouse projects as platforms to highlight entire cycle touring regions was discussed.
All of this was supported by networking formats specifically set up to promote exchange and foster strong, cooperative links between the bicycle industry and tourism sector.
The BIKE TRAVEL FORUM took place on Friday, 27 June 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00 on the Yellow Stage at the ECOMOBILITY Forum, Hall 8.
