CONEBI committed to work with Eurobike for a joint stand at ASEANBIKE
Joint European commitment at the new trade show in Thailand - South-East Asian region a promising future market for the bike industry
Friedrichshafen/Brussels/Bangkok - Roughly six month to go until the first edition of "ASEANBIKE powered by Eurobike” will kick off October 3th to 5th in Bangkok, Thailand. Organizers jointly report good progress in committed brands and exhibitors from all around the globe. As the association of the European bicycle, e-bike, parts and component industries, CONEBI (Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry) will promote the new event in Bangkok with the objective of a joint booth.
The idea of a B2B2C trade fair platform for the Southeast Asian market falls on fertile ground worldwide. CONEBI President Erhard Büchel explains: "The ASEAN region is a promising future market as the number of production sites are continually expanding. We see great potential here, both at sourcing and OEM levels, and as a future market for western brands. As a result, as well as the fact that the new fair carries the signature of the established Eurobike, we gladly decided to participate in the premiere fair with the objective of a CONEBI joint stand.” Why a common occurrence? To take away the burden of the practical organization of a participation in an international show. The joint booth promotes European companies and their products. It has grown into an outstanding meeting and trading place for its exhibitors, their clients, visitors and journalists.
Eurobike Head Stefan Reisinger is pleased about the strong association support from Europe: "The CONEBI engagement is a great endorsement that underscores the great potential of the new trade show in Thailand and brings global industry participants closer together.”
Not only because of the duties and customs decisions that are much talked about in the bicycle industry, the Southeast Asian market is becoming increasingly important as a sourcing, production and export market for (E-)bikes and parts. Traditionally strong, these markets have been important in the fields of sourcing, accessories and apparel for years. Regardless, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia are also developing an increasing sports and leisure culture, as well as a growing awareness of sustainable mobility. As a result many of the ASEAN market countries see increasing sales and rising potential for the international bicycle and micro-mobility industry. In addition to a number of local player manufacturers, brands, importers and wholesalers from Thailand and neighboring countries, ASEANBIKE has received commitments from major OEMs and suppliers in Taiwan and China, as well as prominent Western commitments.
