Family bike tours: Educational and entertaining
Turn off PlayStation. Shut down Xbox. Forget the endless trips to the mall. Even kids who've out-grown Disney, can still have a summer vacation to write home about.
In 2003, Euro-Bike & Walking Tours launched an array of family tours that have families looking
out from fortress towers, hiking through the woods to medieval castles, even paddling to the Pont
du Gard. The "Family Tours" combine a day of short distance cycling with enlightening sightseeing.
The tours feature easy terrain, child-friendly sights, fun activities, and summer tour dates.
As on all of the company's tours, children age 15 and under receive a 10% discount. "We want to
help parents plan trips their children will remember all their lives. And maybe even grandma and
grandpa too!" said company president, René Hoeve.
Family Tours this year include: France (July 19-26); Germany (July 19-24); Denmark (August
2-9); and Holland (June 22-29). Families are welcome on all of the company's 90+ walking and
cycling tours, except tours for singles and solos. Euro-Bike & Walking Tours has been leading active
vacations in Europe since 1974.
In addition to their Family Tours, the company offers a full line of luxury cycling and walking vaca-
tions in 14 European countries, with additional specialty departures for singles and private groups.
Tours feature deluxe accommodations and gourmet meals. Trips range in length from 6 days to two
weeks.
