Days 1-2 Constance
Join us in Zurich and transfer to Constance, a university town on the shores of Lake Constance. There’s time to explore before a sumptuous welcome dinner overlooking the lake. Next day, monasteries and small farms line our bike route to the lush islands of Mainau and Reichenau. Later, ferry across the lake for a stroll along Meersburg’s promenade. Day 3 Stein am Rhein
Bicycle along the Rhine into Switzerland, passing dairy farms and fields of wild flowers. Explore quaint towns along the way with their leaning half-timber houses and steep, narrow streets. Days 4-5 Winterthur
Follow the curves of the Rhine to Schaffhausen, with its imposing ivy-covered castle. Then carry on to the wondrous, thunderous Rhine Falls before arriving at our Art Deco hotel in Winterthur. Next day, enjoy a spectacular ride through the Tösstal valley with incredible Alpine views and a visit to Kyburg Castle; or opt to visit Zurich or lovely lakeside Lucerne.

Day 6 Rouffach
A private coach takes us through the Black Forest to Alsace, France. We'll stop for lunch and a stroll through the market in Freiburg. Arriving in Rouffach, our grand château rises above the town to greet us. Luxuriate poolside amid the vineyards, or take a spin in the surrounding hills. (cycling tour mileage: 21)
Day 7 St-Hippolyte
Today we're in picture-perfect wine country, following the Route du Vin past emerald vineyards, spire-topped villages, and colorful half-timbered towns. Don't forget to stop for a wine tasting! Day 8 Ostwald
Visit the towering Haute de Koenigsbourg Castle this morning, followed by a glorious bicycle ride through vineyards and pastures, or spend the day in Strasbourg, with its lively shopping district and canal-laced old quarter. Our farewell evening is spent at the elegant, superbly appointed Château de l'Ile, a member of the prestigious Grandes Etapes Françaises.

Transfer to Strasbourg or Zurich Airport for departure.
