Day 1 St-Malo
We'll meet in Rennes and shuttle to St-Malo with time to explore the town's ramparts and castle. If time permits, head over to glamorous Dinard, with its beach, promenade, and casino. Tonight we'll gather for a grand welcome dinner.

Day 2 St-Malo
Today's glorious ride follows the coast past rocky promontories and sand beaches, with views that go on forever. We'll stop to taste the sweet oysters farmed off the shores of Cancale, and visit the home of French explorer Jacques Cartier, who discovered Canada, before heading back to St-Malo for dinner and a walk around town. Day 3 St-Vaast
Transfer to Dol de Bretagne and visit to its historic cathedral before cycling to the base of Mont St-Michel. What a thrill to see the island grow larger as we cycle toward it, until finally it towers above. We'll walk up to tour the abbey at the top, then transfer by van into Normandy and our hotel in the picturesque harbor town, St-Vaast. (bike tour mileage options: 17 / 19)
Day 4 St-Vaast
Today's loop takes us to Barfleur, a charming fishing port with granite houses dating back to the 17th century. For great views, climb 233 ft to the top of the lighthouse at Pointe de Barfleur. It's one of the tallest in France. Then make your way back to St-Vaast on a spectacular route through rolling woodlands and pastures. (bicycle trip mileage options: 25 / 36)
Days 5-6 Bayeux
Visit the seaside resort at Quinéville en route to WWII sights at Ste-Mère Église and Utah Beach. There's ample time to visit memorials and museums before heading on Isigny, made famous by its creamy sweet butter. Tonight stroll in the lovely old town of Bayeux, with its half-timber houses and fine shops. Next day's loop stops at the military cemetery at Omaha Beach, the German military battery at Pointe du Hoc, and the Rangers Museum at Grandcamp-Maisy.

Day 7 Bayeux
Start the day visiting the colorful Bayeux tapestry, over 90 yards in length, embroidered with vivid illustrations of William the Conqueror's conquest of England. Later, stay in Bayeux and visit the many interesting shops and museums, or head out for a loop ride to nearby WWII sights. Tomorrow's route includes Gold Beach, the "artificial invasion harbor" at Arromanches, and the German observation post at Longues sur Mer. Day 8
Transfer to Caen (Map) for early departure, or visit the Caen Peace Museum and depart later.
