Day 1 Avignon
We arrive early into cream-colored Avignon, the bustling City of Popes. Have fun exploring this marvelous town before our welcome dinner tonight.

Days 2-3 Uzès
Enjoy an easy bike ride to the famous 2,000 year-old Pont-du-Gard before heading to medieval Uzès, with its arcaded marketplace. Next day, our relaxed pace invites you to explore the surrounding countryside, perhaps chat with a convivial farmer, or linger at a roadside café.

Days 4-5 St-Rémy-de-Provence
Follow the Rhône to beautiful Tarascon, then continue to St-Rémy, with its Roman monuments and lively shopping district. Next morning, enjoy St-Rémy's delightful market before an unforgettable ride to Les-Baux-de-Provence and historic Arles, a van Gogh favorite. Day 6 Carpentras
Continue through exquisite French countryside, greeted by gold-tinted villages and gaily-colored fields in the Alpilles foothills. Visit an artist's studio in Eygalières, then pass through the breathtaking Sorgue River gorge. We'll spend tonight in historic Carpentras, perhaps visit its synagogue, the oldest in France.

Days 7-8 Vaison-la-Romaine
Winding rural routes lead to famous wine villages. Tour the wineries or enjoy a picnic before arriving in riverside Vaison-la-Romaine. Day 9 Rochegude
Saddle up for a relaxing day of serene rural landscapes. Catch the sweet scent of grapes on the vine or olives on the trees as we follow the rolling countryside to Rochegude. Many of the renowned Côte du Rhône wine châteaux are open for a tour and a tasting. (bike tour mileage options: 25 / 29)
Day 10 Althen-des-Paluds
Our ride starts with a visit to thriving Orange, acclaimed for its Roman Theater and Triumphal Arch. You may want to peruse the marketplace for some honey, olives, even truffles. Then we're off to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, to taste world-class wines produced from vines planted by the popes of Avignon. Later this evening, savor a farewell banquet at our luxurious hotel in Althen-des-Paluds.

Day 11
Say farewell to Provence and shuttle to Avignon for departure.
