Our tour visits Stonehenge, the Isle of Wight, the Roman villa at Rockbourne, and countless other wonders from England's remarkable past. We'll bicycle along quiet country roads, heaths and hedgerows. Bike through woodlands and along the coast, visiting timeless thatched villages and vibrant market towns along the way.

Day 2 Lymington
We'll mount our bicycles in Lymington, a yachting town, and bike to the medieval shipbuilding village of Bucklers Hard. Smell the salty sea air as we cycle easy coastal roads past tiny villages and hidden harbors.

Day 3 Lymington
Today's route explores the Victorian splendor of the Isle of Wight. After a short ferry ride, visit Carisbrooke Castle, then make your way to Alum Bay, with its multicolored cliffs. You'll have plenty of time to relax, have a spot of tea, or visit the High Street before ferrying back to the mainland.

Day 4 Salisbury
Stately manors and forest landscapes make for an idyllic day of cycling as we pedal the gently rolling countryside to Salisbury. Pass heaths and woodlands before stopping at Rockbourne, with the remains of the largest Roman villa in Britain, then visit Breamore, a resplendent Elizabethan manor.
(bike trip mileage options: 27 / 40 / 47)

Day 5 Salisbury
Stroll the medieval streets of Salisbury today or opt for a loop ride to prehistoric Stonehenge. The monumental scale of the stones helps explain why this is one of Britain's most visited sights. Bike along the River Avon, past brilliant green pastures, amid the bramble and hedgerows that line the route.
(bike tour mileage options: 22 / 27 / 39)

Day 6 Sparsholt
Spectacular scenery and inspirational sights combine to make this a day of unforgettable cycling. We'll pass peaceful pastures with lazy grazing sheep while serene villages and cozy thatched cottages offer a glimpse into traditional English country life. Along the way we'll stop at the 1,000-year-old Romsey Abbey and at Broadlands, former home of the late Earl Mountbatten. Our home for the night is an exquisite 17th C manor house. (bicycle tour mileage options: 28 / 37)

Day 7 Winchester
We're off to Winchester today, following the chalky Downs through the Itchen valley. There's plenty to see, from King Arthur's Round Table, to Winchester's imposing Norman cathedral. Enjoy all the sights, then relax at our stately hotel, a former Benedictine convent. Our scrumptious farewell feast just may change your mind about English cooking!
