Burgundy...Can there be a better place to slow down and catch one's breath? It's not likely when the landscape is so captivating and the scent of grapes is always in the air! Our gentle cycling route follows ancient roads through vineyards and farms, to quaint villages and famous wine towns. This is a relaxing taste of the good life, where we'll savor world class wines and richly textured cuisine, while biking in the very heart of France!

Day 1 Gevrey-Chambertin
We meet early in Dijon before an afternoon bicycle ride from the charming village of Gevrey-Chambertin to the larger wine town of Marsannay. There's an opportunity to visit a host of wine tasting caves, or take a tour of the famous Château de Marsannay. This evening, we'll enjoy a gourmet welcome feast.

Day 2 Beaune
Bicycle along the gently rolling "Route du Grand Cru" to villages like Nuits-St. Georges, and Aloxe-Corton on our way to Beaune. Vineyards are everywhere, and famous estates like Château du Clos de Vougeot, Château de la Tour, and Château de Corton-André, offer tours that are rich in history as well as fine wines.

Day 3 Beaune
Spend today exploring Beaune, or head west toward the ochre-colored hills for a day of unforgettable cycling. Serene landscapes and out-of the way villages dot our route. Visit the Château de la Rochepot, or take the longer route to Gamay and Puligny-Montrachet. In Beaune, don't miss the incomparable Hôtel-Dieu. Tonight, try any one of Beaune's fine restaurants, or treat yourself to a gourmet dining experience at our grand hotel. (cycling tour mileage options: 20 / 26)
Day 4 Chalon / Buxy
Leaving Beaune for the riverside port of Chalon-sur-Soane, vineyard-covered slopes slowly give way to quiet woodlands, gurgling streams, and dairy farms. Our bicycle route visits famous wine châteaux including Santenay, Mercurey, and Mellecey. (bicyle trip mileage options: 33 / 35)
Day 5 Tournus
Our last day of relaxed cycling takes us to medieval Tournus, home of the famous St-Philibert Abbey. Along the way we'll pedal the quiet rural roads of France, visiting market towns and picturesque villages. This evening we'll stay at the lavish Hotel de Greuze, and enjoy a sumptuous farewell feast of rich Bourguignonne specialties. (bike tour mileage: 30)
Day 6
Say au revoir to Burgundy and shuttle to Dijon for departure.
